Gonzalo has extensive experience in projects of natural resources and real estate, and possess considerable experience in legal sustainability strategies for such projects. The highlights of his practice are mining rights, water and real estate; and his approach in this matters has been comprehensive including strategic advice and also the development and defense of significant litigation.

Professional Association and Activities

1991-1998 Partner in Gonzalo Figueroa Yáñez and Emilio Morgado's Law Firm. 2004-2006 Assumes as Auditor Lawyer in Sulfanor SA, a position in which he applied for the bankruptcy of the company and presented a plan for continuity line of business, then assumed as Administrator for the Continuity of the Commercial Activity. 2006-2008 Executive Director Quimal Minera S.A., taking over duties of obtaining permissions, suppliers and staff contracting. 2008-2011 Legal Manager of Minera Antares S.A., participated in project management, financing, exploration work, environmental authorizations, hiring engineering services, multure and others, to the implementation of the mine and process.

Professional Experience

Gonzalo began his work activities after graduating at Law School of the University of Chile, he joined the office of the teachers in his Faculty, Mr. Gonzalo Figueroa Yáñez and Emilio Morgado. He worked seven years in that firm, promoted to a partner in his second year. He was responsible for civil and commercial law and non-metallic mining law, and worked for major customers such as State Bank, Concepcion Lottery , University of Concepción, Maipú Aggregates among others. In 1998, after the dissolution of the Law Firm, he created his own Law Practice specializing in mining and environmental issues, advising service providers and producers of small- and medium size mining, in all matters related to permission, contracting suppliers and financing of exploration and explotation. During 2014 he has joined as Partner at UB & Co. Attorneys & Company, where his focus is implementing his knowledge and skills as a litigator and project experience to various sustainable and environmental conservation projects.
